22,000 Americans died from prescription drug overdose in the last year alone. That's one person every 24 minutes. Energy BBDO partnered with m ss ng p eces and the National Safety Council to help raise awareness and take action to stop the drug epidemic sweeping the United States. A memorial titled "Prescribed to Death" was launched in Chicago in November 2017 where a machine was programmed to carve a new face into opioid pills every 24 minutes. The pills were then added to a wall of pills allowing the wall to grow with the problem in real time. The memorial has since toured through Pittsburgh, Atlanta and DC.
I designed a typography piece which was showcased on the exterior window of the exhibit which outlines all of the thoughts people have when using prescription opioids.
Press release created to show the faces behind the opioid crisis.
